Is it just me or are all the Dunkin Donuts franchises owned and operated by Indian Immigrants?

I used to date a women that was part of their "franchising team" and I asked her the same thing (2 years ago). Her answer was "Predominantly immigrant..." (didn't specify one over any others). In fact, I was even told that as an American I would be at a disadvantage when applying. At the time, I was planning on trying to open one up in Southern Louisiana but it is very difficult as an American citizen to make the business model work.

hmm interesting. there's a great story in massachusetts. the largest owners and operators in new england are a family that own over 60 dunkin donuts (that brings in over 15 million net income a year, yum!)

the husband and wife owners started out in their first dunkin donuts in the early 1980s, as minimum wage employees. They saved up enough money and bought that very DD within a few years. They quickly bought their second shortly after that. Then the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th. ...

all the way up to the 60something Dunkin Donuts. pretty cool.

and they are immigrants. but not indian

It's like "On The Run" gas stations here. Same idea. Good on them.

I notice it's a lot of family members as employees. I wonder if lack of official employees on the pay scale make a difference in profit margins.

That's another thing with Dunkin Donuts; they give a preference to existing franchise owners. The more you own, the easier it becomes to acquire franchise rights for new locations. Hard for newbs to get their foot in the door. But the coffee is sooooo good...

Actually, Dunkin Donuts coffee has gone downhill over the years, which is a great disappointment to me personally, addicted like I am to the Dark Brown Gold, Wine of the Gods, Elixir of the Titans.

Oh REALLY now? I seem to remember mixing the grinds and water in my mouth (no filter, no HEAT) because the pukes on the budget committee gave us 6% of the Navy budget...I never saw cream OR sugar...
