Don't need an add-on, just hover your cursor over the 'Bushels' in the top line ingame. Same for 'Money'.

Also in the Research menu, hover cursor over your current tech % and you'll see what the max is for your gov type.

hmmm, well there was some kinda add on. I can't find it and mine does not do that. Maybe I will try using a different browser

what browser are you using?

It should show you what your surplus is or you deficit. And if it's a deficit, it'll tell you how long until you run out of food.
