sorry fordy, but not in the context I was using it. scott was saying he was in the vc world. if you are in the vc/pe world you are near deal flow if you are working in a desirable place in the firm, away from back office. all partners in vc and pe firms are on top of deal flow. it's not subjective, it's a term related to venture and private equity industry and directly speaks to the deals that a v.c. or p.e. firm gets paid on, so brokerage of buyouts, capital raises, debt restructuring, etc
so when someone is in that world and not near deal flow, it's a polite way of saying ... if you are even in that world, you are back office at best, but i bet you aren't really in that world ...
anyway, just trolling on scott but no subjectivity there
