6 years ago Dan/Grumpy old man came back with a dissolved PDM/Paradigm. At the time there was few players. 1 I think and we began to rebuilt PDM after over 10 years the last senate (many still the same now) dissolved paradigm and as game lost many players and life happened.

Dan knew since I was 14 my dad was a drunk, a drug addict and dealer. He called my mom at 18 and drove from Iowa to Cleveland to see me graduate, then later Georgetown to graduate again with her, and again when graduated from Police Academy. I miss him. This was announced on the forums under “Memorial Thread” - but we all built something great. Drow came back and made me drag him back. Dan was a stubborn 67 years and his illness raced to his brain. He was also known as plumbermanDan/grumpy old man or just Dan.

2 years ago this set he died. Don’t ever think words or people online don’t make a difference, and actions have consequences. And above all, work it out. We’re all about 30-80 years old.

Being the date this week has helped continue to make me learn. And seeing many of you attend funerals or on KoH deal kicking cancers ass.

It’s 2 years almost to the week I took care of all the final arrangements. As his family real threw him out. You can’t buy loyalty guys.

I found a song some may find cliche some may find tacky, but I if you’d please listen to the words, its 2 minutes. We miss you Dan. Thank you for being part of my family, pdm/paradigm family and EE family for 20+ years.

I do very much care about this place, Paradigm (no politics here), as I’m sure some of you all do too.

Plz just give it a watch, it’s worth it. I’ve missed him alot this week and this is all I have to remember it seems. 2 years I just can’t get over that booming voice and kindness. And the void, as he left us all.

He would have been 65 just a few short days ago. Dan was one of a kind and he got better with age. I miss that dude, his raspy voice cut through air like a pistol.

I am proud of you sir for carrying his legacy onward. Keep your head up brother.

One of the really amazing things about this very silly text based game is how much of an impact it has made in so many real lives. This is one of the most extraordinary examples but also typical of the kind of close connection so many Earthers have made.

Just because we never met in person, doesn't make our bond any less real. We chat, we laugh, we grind late-night trying to wall or kill, its all sharing something that matters. We're all part of this story, our squad, and the memory of everyone we lost is rarely ever forgotten in this community. Players like Dan leave a mark that lasts forever...not just on a leaderboard, but on real lives that have played here with us. Honor him by remembering the good times, the wins, the losses, the jokes, the struggles, that what he would want.

Truly was bigger than life. Leto was right, he had this booming perfect radio voice.

Honestly it’s extremely hard as some nights I’d have him in my pocket with face time pointing out so he’d see the silliness. (Ps. As long as I turn camera off in case I had to do something protest privacy) lots of fun times

I may be two years late, but a random search of my old username brought me here. RIP to Dan. I spent some time in PDM with him a very long time ago and anytime I see a former player I played with pass, I just want to make sure I send my condolences over.

Pretty tacky to repeatedly talk trash about this guys family when they aren’t around to defend themselves. Go take that up with them instead of posting it online. You should not be anywhere near authority.

Ahhhhh bummer KoH you never met this grumpy old man. He’s up yer alley. Team server was stupid but getting to play with VixVixvi, bomber and Dan were the best experiences I had in this game bar none. None of the wars, none of the politics and none of the accomplishments measure close to an inch of a simple conversation with them. If anyone ever says something nice about me I hope it’s that I played with them. Blessed to know them.
