- Players could "invest" in the market as a for-profit entity, e.g., a stock price could start low at the beginning of a set and gradually increase, the market could pay a pro rata dividend every X days to shareholders based on the player's holdings as a % of the total and the aggregate amount of commissions generated by the market.

- This could also be applied to each type of goods (e.g., Spy Tech might have a much lower market cap than Bushels), and/or the market-as-a-whole dividend could pay out based on different goods at different times of the set (e.g., it pays out based on commissions for bushels the first week, oil the second week, etc.)

- Perhaps in some servers (e.g., coop), a certain type of tech could lower a player's market commissions

I haven't thought too deeply about the second-order effects of these suggestions.
