What's up with that? This guy has been in my scores list for the last 5 rounds and now he's purpled?

I'm hoping they fix that, cause the deleted both of us, they prolly thought it was coordination lol but if they read hit logs ... The same guy double tapped both of us and was paying for his mistake... I'll hope it gets resolved.

Funny...two seemingly random players get purpled for fighting 1 moron who double/triple tap them...they get deleted. Yet many rounds someone abuses Dr and topfeeds half the server and Boone has any hopes of getting their land back and that is OK. What a joke.

I don't know sometimes what mods OR players are up to. Why does someone report it when two people they fluffed with both hit them? Why do mods not check the news first before making deletions? Bizarre

I agree and I'm pissed.. Looks like they decided against me and kept me deleted.. I can only create a new country... This is really annoying when I did 0 things wrong... I was in GDI.... Looks like I'll take a break from this game then if mods ban for nothing . Have a good couple months people.

I thought after all the team server debates the mods had finally figured out what 'coordination' meant, are you sure nothing else happened? Like, nobody sent any messages that indicated coordination?

Only thing I got came from the person I was hitting.. Whining that dogmolk was hitting him. I loled and said good .. Easier on me to hit u.. That's what u get for double tapping people.

Who is express Mods anyway?

I had been tap 5 times by this #123 (fulamak) who I believe is either a newbie or a sore loser.
The moment other player AB him he sent me a message calling me P***y and such.
I just replied he had double tap other and expect other to do the same to you and not just me.
He told me that he will report me for coordination but I just kept quiet.

Not sure why MOd would wanna get me purpled.
Perhaps someone should clear my name here.

I will allow another mod to answer this thread as I was work and am not sure what was going on.

Look at the timing of the attacks from both players. One continued from where the other left off immediately. There was coordination in that regardless if the victim was at fault for double tapping them both.

I'm pretty sure the mods had solid evidence. Two sets ago I had tons of evidence and nothing happened at first.

I'm not sure if you know, but there's also an appeal system- though I'm not sure if they reimburse your turns or not.

In hindsight, in defense of the mods, it must be difficult to determine if someone is cheating or not. Since you know the 'cheaters' will simply adapt to the detection methods.

I think the decision to purpled me is harsh.
Its not about winning or losing in a game, but to make ourselves clean.

Looking at his news, this guy did not join GDI, double and triple tab others, rainbow build etc.
He could be a newbie and i dont blame him.
But for MOD to accuse on coordination is pretty not right.

I have report 2 abusive messages from him but no feedback.
Whatever its, I do respect MODS decision as I know how i play, so do others.

I'm not sure which country you are of the two but there was a 13 second difference between the attacking countries in their GSing to kill their target. If Earthgraphs could show the previous set it would be easy enough to copy/paste it. I was looking at it earlier and was surprised you weren't purple at the time I saw it.

You deserved the purple for the coordination, sorry mate. Rules are rules. Next time just be like C R O A T I A and kill him yourself. I think everyone knows not to touch that guy. Double tapping him has the same effect as self deleting.

there is no solid evidence... I did not coordinate with anyone, I was freekin out of state on vacation playing from my phone rather than my normal laptop... I played at odd times when ever I was awake... I slept a lot of my vacation... I spoke to 0 players other than the idiot I hit... he whined like a baby, then pulled the BS coordination card... I was warring under GDI... cant coordinate that the same idiot would chose to hit 2 players then those players never speak, but they both decided to hit back as would be expected if you double or triple tapped someone. then those players got deleted... I don't speak to anyone on anything outside earth, I only in game communication, cause I don't know anyone from here... I feel a lot of players are from UK.. im not from there... its just frusterating that people cant check spy opps of players under suspicion and as well all things those players have been doing... cause I moved right from the 1st player who triple tapped me to the player who double tapped me, I tried to hit the other guy not #123, but it told me he was dead lol.. so I moved on to next idiot. but CLEARLY me returning hits on player who dbl or trpl tapped me is coordination if anyone else wanted revenge. I beg the MODS to be sure there is coordination, cause this greatly deters me from playing and I do like this game, but not if I didn't cheat in any manor and I get deleted for cheating... thanks all!

If I'm double tapped and planning a retal, and I see another player who was also double tapped is hitting the same target in the news, is it coordination to hasten the timing of my attack? How is that collusion? I'm not saying that is what happened, but it's a logical possibility that does not involve coordination.

I have in the past been double or triple tapped by a guy and when i saw him being gs'ed into the ground by another player... i waited until he was done and then fired off some hits to finish the job because i wanted revenge againist that player too for his ignorance

I think there is nothing wrong with what i call "indirect co-ordination"... whereas you are using the news to your advantage to get your revenge.

If a mod can't prove beyond a reasonable doubt that someone is violating the rules, then they shouldn't be purpled. Simple as that. If they type evidence by chat to another player for example that shows the malicious intent, then BAM, pop away with purple. If someone operates multiple accounts on the same IP, BAM, pop away with purple.


Has to be fair if we want to keep the player base and let it grow. Bad calls in this game is like bad ref calls in sports, it makes you lose faith in the game that you are invested in and thus want to alienate it

These guys did nothing wrong. I don't even know what someone meant about GS'ing within 13 seconds and getting a kill, I don't see it here. Deletion was definitely a mistake and a kind of indefensible one? Why would you pull the trigger and delete people without even looking at their news first?

I sent ebert a message. You guys have been around me long enough to know that nobody is deleted for no reason, and we always check the news.

All i can say is it would be nice for these kind of situations where lots of talk is going on with a decision that a 2nd mod looks at the situation too and then verifies that it was a legit delete and then case closed

Saying we should know you better Tellla and that you do your homework is only half reassuring.

We appreciate that you are protecting the integrity of the game... just nice to see that your side of things are in check as well. I know the reasons for deletion dont need to be talked about for privacy reasons but us players like to know that everything is 100% correct and in order if that makes any sense

Part of the problem here is public perception. What is so terrible about specifically stating what someone was banned for? If they were legitimately cheating, don't they deserve to be turned into pariahs? If it was an avoidable mistake, wouldn't the rest of the community benefit from the cautionary tale?

coordination should not even be deleted. The punishment should be 12-36 hours holding off the turns flow.

Yes, the secrecy is a bit annoying. They won't even tell who owns accounts that get deleted, so you can get deleted 10 times in a row without having your identity revealed, but they want to protect cheaters' privacy or something. I don't understand why they can't say what rule a person broke either. It's bad policy. I know they don't want always to reveal HOW they caught a person, but I've been saying this for years, so whatever...

what would you do with the name/identity of the person that cheats or caught breaking the rules?

Belittle him? make fun of him? make his life miserable? Bully him? You want to name and shame them.. so that you can sleep better ? Or you can finally find someone worst than you ?

Actually, by being against transparency, you are encouraging cheating. If you are not actively against it, then you are tacitly complicit. Since you played the religion trump card, I'll throw out the Nazi card here... How many Jews and other minority groups could have been saved if more Germans had spoken out against the atrocities of the Holocaust? Most people living in the Allied countries maybe heard rumors but were utterly shocked and disgusted when the full scope of the "Final Solution" had the bright light shine on it. The veil had been lifted and in the remaining transparency, we saw the brutal reality of the Nazi regime.

Additionally, look at the speculation being levied at the mods. They are subject to complaints ranging from incompetency to inconsistency to bias to disinterest. Transparency will easily absolve them of all these accusations. They will be above it. Without any oversight, what is to stop them from doing whatever they damn well please? Absolute power corrupts absolutely, and even worse than that, in public relations, the appearance of impropriety is every bit as damning as actual impropriety. Quite frankly, without transparency, there is no reason to trust the mods - even when they are right.

Empower the mods by highlighting the good work they do. Make their jobs transparent.

I am generally for transparency for the reasons mentioned, however it should be noted that exposing information could have the unintended consequence hastening the evolution to more sophisticated cheating methods.

Netsquash, a second mod was contacted and looked at the same information I did, and he agreed with my decision at the time. This was one of those tough calls that I would never do on my own without getting a second opinion. Ultimately, it had to do with the timing of events, and what I thought was an abnormal pattern of activity. I have sent more details to ebert in a pm. You'll notice that both players have now been corrected and now longer appear as purple.

As far as naming and shaming go, both sides have good points. At this time, however, it is not our policy to do so. Until that changes, I have to follow the guidelines I've been given. Personally, though, I don't think it will make a big difference, and will only provide catharsis for people here.
