Apparently, the "cool" thing to do now is to let ppl hit you for easy, low acres early in the set, then "retal" them near the end of the set for much higher gains. Not only do you spend your early time in DR, but you can also run low-expenses, and the other guy can't retal your "retal" without the fear of getting pancaked.


Just hope the other guy cares about his set and doesn't decide to farm you before your AB run.

I hit AzN in a recent set when he was running 9k turrets on 3500 land. 9k turrets. retals happen, and are part of the game and you mostly gotta roll with them even though they're never fun, but if you literally don't try to defend yourself, do you deserve to take a retal?

I accept retals in a 24hr window. Otherwise I take it as a LG and retal.

It has made me quite unpopular amongst some and has gotten me into wars a few times... but it's how I personally combat this situation.

i impose my own twenty four hour rule- if i get to it within that time, i retal. if i can't get to it in time, which i often don't even try, then i let it slide, a few hundred acres lost

sometimes 24 hours is a little strict but it's a good baseline if you're trying to be fair. but like 36 hours or a bit more might not be out of the question if you're like, hundreds of turns behind and the other guy is camping his country playing turns nonstop... obviously you can wait 96 hours if you really WANT to but. but thatd be a low blow. thats what thatd be. a low blow.

if you dont want to get retalled, dont grab.

i ror all the time if the retal is stupid, i dont care if it = "pew pew pew," i take that into account before doing so.
