is it acceptable for someone to invite/offer a research alliance, but but when accepted farm his way through the game and buy all tech on public market??

It's not currently against the rules, but most people would find that behavior unacceptable. Possibly if they tell you in advance they won't be teching, and offer another strong alliance in exchange, it could be somewhat more acceptable.

Didn't imagine it would be against the rules, thats what makes earth so fun most of the rules are un written standards people seem to adhere to and enforce in there own interesting ways!!

+1 Blid someone might offer a good def ally for being part of your tech circle although not teching or only doing a tech start, I certainly like that as sometimes run low def at start in favour of other things.

when in tech alliance, doe's your ally news report any tech gained?
