All it does is stop people you haven't multitapped from sending missiles and malicious attacks. The purpose of joining GDI would be to keep people not in the war from interfering.

like, when you challenge a person to a war, they kind of expect a war before the last day of the reset. never mind the fact that we agreed on breaking GDI and you didnt even join, and now wont break it, and probably still don't understand how it works. but if it takes you this long to build your 2500-acre "WAR MACHINE" then your war machine is hopeless, just look at how big the top countries are now.

Sorry dude, I got bogged down with some other guys doing spy attacks on me, they were commie/indies and apparently are people that I've pissed off that remember my name. Which is OK, I don't mind fighting anyone. :) That's what makes this game fun for me anyway. :)
