oh absolutely not req -- i'm just clarifying that if you're going to say "you are the face of the game" that there are two other faces that are just like mine in terms of effort put in and a few more folks continue

and the reason I deal with the bullfluff is because I'm often the only one who has the stomach for what ensues. but that is also why i am seen as the mehul role, despite the fact that qz is actually much closer to the codebase and zarcon and martian do more to help keep the game humming than I do and have been for months. but that's the kind of person I am -- when fluff goes south, i help make it head back north.

and by bullfluff, i mean day-to-day bullfluff. when it gets absolutely crazy (like that shooting stuff), qz and slag and martian and h4 and zarc are always there at a high level, along with all the mods. but like let's say someone is sending out death threats ingame on such a consistent basis that we pretty much feel like we need to go to the authorities. who handles that? that's not why any of us work on the game, but someone has to do it.

like this is basically a large rant, but the ratio of fun things to annoying things is at an all time low and the community is contracting with several alliances teetering on the brink. i don't have the time to devote to the game despite the fact that i'd like to (come on lottery!). i want this community and this game to succeed, but it's going to take a larger, wider and more holistic effort from the community in order for it to be possible.
