6.5m barrels bought so far, I personally have bought over 300k barrels in the past hour off my PM.
There definitely seems to be more demand than you experienced last set, or what you're calculating.

I still have over 600 turns of grabbing to do. Recent breaks have been closer to 2m breaks, so you can see I still need a boatload of oil just for myself. nitelL is saying he's in the same boat it sounds like.

That wasn't my assumption, nor what I was was disagreeing about. I don't quite share your viewpoint on the oil market in express is all. I apologize if you felt my dialogue was anything other.

Oil at 299 is cheaper than PM. I have to imagine if supply is continued to be provided at that price or lower, then the total sold will increase substantially in the last days of the set.

I think he does, I seem to recall him occasionally just doing this for "fun". I think he even said so on the boards.

I didn't buy oil on the PM, but I absolutely 100% bought oil for over 150 last set on the public. So the math isn't mathing.

Celphi, I can't see your country status, but I see that you only finished with 1.4m NW. This isn't meant to be disrespectful, but it would seem you didn't play the whole set? or didn't play all your turns? I don't see how you could have had oil up the whole set.

I think you misunderstand what Slagpit is saying about the server change, it's not two days longer.

Yes, all the old finishes should realistically have an * for bot manipulation.
It's one of the reason I've asked to have a reset on ranks for each changeset (whilst still keeping the old for historical purposes).

I don't think 30m is obtainable, but I think it could still finish top 10.

I've seen a 30m all-x oiler finish in express.
Would be interesting to see what someone can do with it now.

As Ugo pointed out, the market is now empty forcing players to buy on PM or produce themselves. If someone was selling oil, there would be more sales haha.

Sure, it's the beginning of the set. There are attacks but the overall demand is still super low, as breaks are low.
Many people start with some rigs to get them going for the first day or so, and then switch to purchasing on public (if reasonable).

There are guys with 40,50,60k+ acres almost every set, I know for a fact at least a few of them don't build a boatload of rigs and instead rely on the public market (unless prices are completely unreasonable).

To be clear, I'm not trying to say Oiler is a viable strategy in express (or probably any server) if seriously netting for a win. I do know Saphire ran a good Fascist Farmer-Oiler to victory earlier this year, so I know it's not like people aren't buying any oil at all.

I bought oil at higher prices than that (admittedly not millions of barrels), bad timing I guess?

It's not new. Max sell price has been 3x PM since at least Earth Empires started (and I believe Earth2025 days).
I don't play alliance, but what I believe did change this set for alliance was the PM price for bushels. This was adjusted in the most recent change set. So 3x of the "new" PM price would be different than what it was in the past at the old PM price.

I believe military and bushel prices are 3x PM price.

I would suggest the earthquake protection first, then the rest on bonus turns (for express).

I somehow missed this, and have to agree it's pretty spot on.

A well played Fascist Farmer can still win, but most of the better players haven't been playing it since the most recent changes. There are still a lot of people still trying it, but they never understood understood the basic fundamentals well enough before, let alone now. They seem to think that if you just grab to 40k+ acres you automatically have a good country. Now with it being harder, they're doing even worse than before.

Scroll down to the express section. The PM price of bushels has been lowered to match the other servers, thus nerfing farmer a bit on this server.

And yet he does the same thing every set. So you actually didn't teach him, scare him, intimidate him, "stomp him", or generally teach him anything at all.

And where is this zero turrets nonsense coming from? If you carry zero defense and get farmed, that's on you.

Along those lines, I usually recommend trying an all-x (all explore) strategy to get these basics down. Once you have those down, you can start focusing on getting jets and grabbing.

Most people on this server don't even have the basics down, which is why you see countries with 30k+ acres and they can't even crack the top 10.

A good all-explore (usually around 15k) that has the fundamentals figured out (Cathankins post), can easily get the top 10.

I think even a change to the game so that a single SS or PS to a non-NPC is considered breaking GDI (vs the current rate of 2) would fix a lot of these issues. I believe this is what you're saying in #3.

It would give more power to the person being griefed to retaliate on their own timeline instead of waiting for a multi-tap.

If anything, I think maybe an amendment to the rules for express could be made. However, it's hard to define "griefing" behavior. There are many examples and probably little agreement on what is or is not.

It's good to see both of you back after an absence, and already dominating with the 1-2 finish. It was nice talking to both of you during the set.

To Ratski, thanks for your normal bad play and trying to blame me for your antics with Link. Maybe next time, send the message intended for Link where you blame me... to Link... instead of the guy you're blaming. I guess it's hard to remember country numbers when you're playing two countries every set. And why Link? The guy literally never bothers anyone? He never hits human players, and minds his own business. I don't even see him posting or responding messages, so you can't even get your rocks off by griefing him.

To the mods... this is getting embarrassing for you all. It takes very little digging to see Ratski and his "neighbor" hit the same players some sets. How many posts need to be made? It's been reported as well. Not to mention the guy screws up most sets and sends messages on behalf of the wrong country. Again, there have been multiple posts on here about it here and it's been reported.

I don't care if he is using a VPN to try and mask it decently, the fact that "they're" hitting the same players should fall under the "teaming" rule. Especially when you can clearly see it happens most sets, and it's not a coincidence. It's one thing to be a crappy griefer and just want to ruin other peoples fun, but at a minimum that should be limited to one country. I think it deserves a legitimate investigation and a legitimate response from the mods.

Hit the NPC countries (denoted in yellow in the scores sheet). If you hit a human player, you're asking for trouble.
If you're trying to learn the game, I'd suggest the cooper server. You can get in with a clan that can teach you some of the basics of the game.
