I hit PDM and SoF in Alliance because leaders from both your clans led TSO. (elves and boltard). To me, your name carries across servers and if you think you can go and mess up a server you don't care about with no repercussions, you're pretty stupid. Sorry to all the innocents that were hit, but that's called being in an alliance. Much like when I hit a non-landtrading country in RD over landtrading. Yeah, sure, they might be a nice guy but they fly the same flag as these guys who are taking top 10 spots away from legit netters.

Pang: No offence but it's been ages since you said that server would be fixed. Just noting that since you used that as a counter argument to my reasons at the time.

Requiem: Worse? As Slagpit said at the time "hitting someone for no reason on one server is ok, but hitting someone for a weak reason on another is not?"

1) elves did far more harm to PDM than good through his abscense and lack of support at times when we needed him due to RL stuff. i heard through the grapevine that he's in SoF now too, but I have not verified that.
2) i said the server would be fixed, but no one's had time to code new things and there hasn't been support to mod it with a very heavy hand. those are the two paths to that server being fixed, IMO.
3) it doesn't matter whether hitting someone for no reason is better or worse than hitting someone for cross-server reasons. what matters is that both things are bad for the game and community in general.

hitting clans "for no reason" (in other words, just for the challenge) is one of the ways for war tags to avoid warring the same tag every set.

I don't "hate" Boltar across all servers, I just realise that the only way to effectively retaliate for his actions on a server he doesn't care about is to hit him on a server he does care about.

As for the "they're individual players, not an alliance" - I'm sure you were just as busy condoning iMag hitting TIE for Zach or Evo/MD/SOL hitting LaF for hanlong or the "Alin is making us hate SOL even more posts", right? (all from this past reset)

SOF has not done anything positive in it's history in EE.

Please name a war where they didn't blindside someone or utterly rake a smaller alliance or called in offensive allies instead of showing a bit of ticker like the old SoF used to have.

Just hollow victories and doing LaF's bidding.

If they sacked up and won a fair war (the same went for LaF) I'm pretty sure this retribution bullfluff would be done.

3 things to negate the game destroying mechanics of current war:

1. Do not allow special attacks in the first 15 days/1000 turns.
2. Force alliances to formally declare war, or 'challenge'.
3. Extend the restarts bonus; include 15% of tech, cash and bushels.

The window for war should not be 2 months. When was the last time there was a 2 month war? Give active players serious restart bonuses to keep alliances in the hunt for longer. Activity and skill should be able to overcome simply numbers.

EDIT: Ok, SoF were in two even wars - the arranged war ECM? and the blindside hit on Evo. They got spanked in both.
