This thought occurred to me: what if it was possible to recall from the market only what you need and not everything you sell?

For example if you have troops and jets and bushels placed on the market, wouldn't it be ok to be able to call back say only your troops and the rest to stay there.

i think this would make some interesting strategy choices.

i'm waiting for your opinions on this and for the mods to say if it's possible.

I think it would require way too much coding in relation to the very small benefit it would provide. There would not be many strategies that would even take advantage of this.

war tactics would change imagine that you have 3 batches of bushels at the same price or around the same price and they are 1 hour away from entering the market when you get KR'd and need cash fast, you could call up just 1 batch and not all of it so you don't need to wait for 5 hours for your bushels to go on the market

Doesen't sound as a huge code job to me.
But i haven't worked on the EE code.
And im only an amatuer coder, wouldn't be able to work on the EE code probably :P

But would it be such a big job?

Way too much coding?

You just put a check box next to each of your "lots" on the market. Either they are all checked by default or they are not. Whatever is checked when you hit "recall" comes back?

this thread has merit.

also, can we reverse the turns? why are people spending more turns recalling than selling? recalling seems to be more important than selling for that matter. when you recall your goods, you don't receive anything except it being recalled.

Because people are idiots. It's the same reason the 'recall goods' button was put there in the first place. Why should the admins reward idiocy even more by letting idiots pick and choose their way out of their own stupidity?

so you mean that people who recall their goods that have no chance of selling and might help them able to wall (at war) when recalled, are idiots? hmmmn... (wonder why soultaker started this thread. lol. jk)

No, I mean people that put their goods on the market just before the market crashes should pay for their idiocy by using 3 turns to recall their goods off the market instead of just 1 turn, which is what I believe you were proposing. And no, it should be an all-or-nothing deal. None of this "Oh, my turrets are selling, but some idiot undercut my food, so let me just click this checkbox and fix my mistake".

What's next, recalling the dozen or so nukes that you accidentally sent at the wrong country (but not the chems you sent at the right country), via a time machine?

I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I think you actually make Alin and Task1 look smart.

Yes Kumander my IQ is way under 90 but i'm working on that :)))) first step to wisdom is realising that you are stupid... some go through life without even that :P

Nukevil recalling things from the market is not the same as recalling missiles back if you try to be smart about it do try to find a smart analogy for that

As i said before it would make some interesting strat choices and all strategies would benefit from it not only in time of war just think about reselling it would help improve stock thus make the game harder

Kumander also has a point with the 3 turns of recalling and 1 turn of sending maybe it would be better if they were 2 and 2 :)

PS: i made this thread due to the fact that while being at war i manage to wall fairly good and more then enough times my problem was that while playing as indi/farmer i had on the market troops, turrets, tanks, and bushels and when i wall it'd be nice to be able to call back lets say the troops and bushels if i'm being GS'd and leave the rest of the batches on the market.

As things are now you have to recall everything and if at the bushel price there isn't such a big difference in public and private market for military units there is: you sell tanks for 500$ on public while on private you sell for around 144$ and that is a big difference in cash... not to mantion that if you ar farmer/oiler and have oil barrels on the market you are forced to wait for the bloody 5 hours as you can't sell those on private
