All-x is all about efficiency. Also , I was a casher so teching warfare wasn't an option. I wasn't looking for a war, otherwise I could have bought it I suppose. I just don't see the point of his actions.

I'm not quite up to speed on stealing tech. Don't you need to have a certain amount of tech on hand to steal a certain amount of tech per turn?

I think it is a legitimate strategy. So long as you don't make any one person too angry. I wouldn't do it myself (I have an open profile). But when you are taking 5k pts per turn while producing another good or cash, that is a large advantage over just cashing.

Looks like he got a NM because of it, but that probably wasn't enough to make it not worth his while. Next time I will send one or two missiles myself.

The problem I have with that is once you retal you open yourself up from GDI.

Would be a shame to retal the tech stealing, only to have them suicide on you.

I didn't look at it from an advantageous perspective, only a harmful one. Perhaps it was a decent strategy... I would have expected a better finish if they were doing it for netting though.

You only open yourself to suicides if you retal (LG) more than once.

Interesting... so you can missile anyone? or just someone who has done ops?

hm, i was under the impression a single nuke after a double tap opens gdi for them to suicide.

this is not the case, i'd have to send two?

There are so many, "What if's" to this.

I didn't even attack the person and yet they can steal tech. That's fine, it's a small wrinkle in my game but I can adjust my strategy to fix that.

If they never attacked me and only spied, will I still be able to send missiles? If/When I send those missiles, does that open me up to everything else and break GDI?

and just because I mainly net, doesn't mean I can't war too. I just prefer to net when i'm netting, and war when I want to war.
