Blid, it's just a matter of the price established by suppliers. If in a given round, no one sells food fo under $150, then everyone else is forced to buy it for $150 (or higher). The thing about the other goods, is that their natural price throughout a set is much closer to what the private market cost of them is, therefore allowing food to be sold at a much higher price and a rise in other prices not impact the overall strategy as much. (this may not make complete sense since it is 1am and the bars are still open but hey...)

You are clearly drunk or misunderstand simple economics concepts.
