I will never understand why people undercut in drastic amounts. From 3700 down to 3000. Thats a nice chunk of change. Also, if every farmer would short sell with max military tech (which is normally better rate of pay after taxes) would that finally get bushels to get closer to the private prices?

$3700 wouldn't sell. Hardly any $3000 will sell. See Cerberus's thread from last reset:

I just ask the tech question because tech is a high valued commodity and for almost all strats its required to succeed. By law, that says any price set will make it sell.

But, what about food. How come more farmers don't short sell and avoid taxes?

For tech, 4000 bus and res have sold... all set. Nobody's buying yet, the round isn't really underway, and nobody in their right mind will buy for $3700 because they *know* it will be lower before long.

For food, selling on the private is better but than selling on the public if prices are bad, but usually prices aren't much below $37, so there's no point. It also takes a lot of military tech to get up to $35 as a private sale price. Many people may just not want to invest in 40,000 tech points to make $1 more on food sales.
