I was browsing the ingame news in Express. I spotted an attack that I had not seen in EE Stats. Comparing the two reports, I found that all the news in EE Stats for Sea Pirate #19 is missing, from approximately Nov 24 at 0:00 GMT. Other countries that I quickly checked seem to be fine. Here are the screen shot copies from Express News, and from EE Stats. (I don't know if they will be readable on this msg system, but here goes)

Well, its strange. 4 hours is missing from #19's news log in eestats. 4 hours is missing from #37's news log. Both missing periods cover the time of the 1737 acre landgrab. I didn't notice problems with other news logs, but I didn't look hard. Here is a copy of the eestats logs:

It wasn't the DR's.. Theory : Sea Pirate was running a top feeding jetter. He was hiding the fact by deleting the log of the attack where he was land trading with his buddies. He snuck up and attacked me with about 10m jets but failed, because I saw him coming having seen the missing attack in the ingame news, hidden in between about 80 AB's. His friends were spying on me and bombing banks simultaneously with the sneak attack. Fail!!! :)

Its OK to be paranoid if you have real enemies

This whole thing has been bugging me. I checked into it further.

1st, the feed was missing on Nov 24 around 00:00
2nd, I put the wrong copies of the logs in the above post, for Nov 23 around 00:00, duhh
3rd, I had no activity in #5 Rock Lobster during the period around Nov 24 0:00

4th, I just checked another country, using EEstats and earthgraphs for that period. The eestats news feed is also missing for that country, Syria #101

=> I was right about the EEstats news, but it apparently affected all countries. My paranoia was misplaced. Sorry I didn't research this properly before I posted.
