When you consider that Rhodesia and South Africa ended apartheid about the same time, looking at the what became of Rhodesia with Mugabe elected president versus what happened to South Africa with Mandela elected president, I would consider Mandela in the same light as George Washington.

South Africa could have very well ended up in the same straights as Zimbabwe us today without someone like Mandela for a leader.
