25 mil for a win? Shoulda tryed this week I guess

duno who was S I N G A P O R E (#39) but he was top 2 with me all the way to friday evening and then got AB'ed to death randomly by 2 different guys becuase he had no GDI

Lesson learned to get GDI right there

I talked to the winner for a split second before the end of the set... wonder who owned the 1st place winner

Was gonna retal him for like 3k land too :/
And I bought all the jets to get a super fat retal on Ebert as well, and then in the half hour waiting for my other jets to come back he got hit by ABs

Then I got retaled while I still had 380 turns, and then I got hit by a random topfeed/grab, fluffed around for awhile hitting Ebert and that guy, and the next thing I knew, tech prices were bottomed out.

SO CLOSE to teching 380 turns with with 16k land or more and selling it all for $2800 and posting a score above 35m. Instead ended under 15k land and sold all my tech for 1k...

I had the set from hell and lowest score ever, mostly due to my own screw ups. I have already mentioned my self deletion, and on my restart I met someone who didn't give a fluff about playing and only wanted to ruin a few sets. Being a couple hundred turns behind, I played along with him.

It is frustrating that people play for the mere entertainment value of ruining others' attempt to play well. It is just a game, sure, but society is polluted with people who live and act that way in life.

I appreciate very much what Netsquash said above...'more to improve for next set.'

That is the reason I play and would bet that is true for most of us. We are competitors and while we want to beat each other, we accomplish that primarily by competing against ourselves and our previous sets. I had my best set ever last week and was excited about raising the bar this week. Instead, my own screw up was followed up by someone who just wanted to ruin someone's game. He ruined a few of our games. I should not have been in that position to begin with, so I am responsible to some degree.

So another set is over and another begins.

Congrats to the top 10. Considering tech prices this wad a pathetic top 10 score.

I was playing from behind in turns all set. I had to sell almost everything for $1k! Imagine if I sold for $2k or $2500 instead of $1k, instead of a 14m jump I would've had a 28m or more jump and finished so freaking high... plus, if I had stocked food I would've made a big profit selling it at those last day prices. Frustrating!

Been tinkering and mastering the Commie indy strategy in express... think im about at a point where i can consistently get to $25m NW+ every set with it np... 32nd, 16th, 11th, and now 5th... granted the 5th should have been 8th/9th most sets

Starting to see the common variables every reset and the timeframes for them.... always some things out of your control but thats what makes it exciting sometimes

I saw alot of regulars like yourself get involved in wars or ROR fights... then of course the few AB suiciders who took out another 5-7 people

So when reflecting the reset... im not really surprised that 10th was 17.3m NW

Who was it that said tech was $3k? These scores are sh1t.

Well the high tech fluffed all the other strats, and the tech was high because there were no big techers - ebert warred, and i already explained what happened to me

I have a base amount of tech I buy of weapons and indy.... if tech isnt at a fair price... i dont upgrade it any more then that... same goes for bus/res tech... ill buy it if its a fair price but not at $2700-3000... needs to be in the $2000-2500 range for LT +EV... the 10% tax makes me more picky about price

winner is viva probably. and I played #39. I got up to 20k acres by turn 1000 but I forget GDI. Too bad for me. And I dont have much time on sat/sun as usual.

You know how they say go big or go home, I was going big, aiming for 45m net haha. As in, not settling at 16k land, going for more. Not caring that it was late Saturday night, and hoping prices would stay up. Etc etc. You don't see tech sets like this that often, but that's the most likely possible way to post a 40m score I think. Funny... when i was in post land grab mode and had people trying to retal me 2 days after my land grabs... and 80k weapons at $1100 came on the market I was in heaven... saturday morning bonus to go from 120% to 140% lol

Thats what I was wondering, how many of the usual guys took this week off, 17 million is uber low.

With tech so expensive it was very difficult to run a good rep casher. I had 360/340 turns saved at one point which I rarely do. I was lucky to maintain 160% bus res and had practically no weapons, mil milstrat, spy etc. I had to play every trick I could think of to get 3rd. Like I sold off all my turrets early Sunday morning to cash 300 turns with no defense while most people were still asleep. It was a challenging set.

I was expecting to see more techers at the top but maybe with the high prices there were low volumes

you are lucky i was asleep when you did... otherwise I would have had a chance to stonewall you by returning market sales and manipulating NW to look like no change... i'm the master of that kinda thing ;)
