Bonus are better used for production boosts or turns if your teching. I also use the first 16 bonus points for free gdi every set. Just my opinion though

Lowering your defences decreases your income rate.

I kinda think it's better just to use the bonus for turns the whole way.. 8 turns added on to the end of your set could probably pay for your gdi expenses for the whole set

On the same topic of resource decay...

Does anyone know, or has anyone ever done the math to know if it is worth it to do a 150 turn batch explore as a farmer to get from 4k to 8k acres with all the decay you're going to suffer over those 150 turns on the food you're producing...

I wonder if the extra land you gain is worth more than the food you lose by doing a large batch explore as a farmer?

As a rep casher if you increase your turrets by a few million you get an increase in your income, like from $61 to $63 per turn per citizen when your business tech is around 172%. The reverse is true too. You get the same effect with jets. I have't tested tanks and troops. So lowering your military causes a decay in your income rate.

what the fluff?

Per Capita Income (PCI) 22.5 * (1 - Taxrate) * (1 + ((Networth/Land)/90000)) * (1 + (2 * (Ent/Land))) * BusTech * GvtPCIBonus

Revenue PCI * Pop * Taxrate

i suppose there is a SLIGHT effect because of NW, but that is divided by your land, and then by 90,000. pretty sure the offset in expenses kills that advantage. the only variable military effects here is NW, which has a slight effect on income. buying tech can have the same effect.

Military Upkeep ((Troops * .11) + (Jets * .14) + (Turrets * .18) + (Tanks * .57) + Spies) * MilTech% * (1 + Networth/40000000) * GvtBonus * MilBaseFactor

MilBaseFactor has a lower limit of .61 and is calculated as follows:
MilBaseFactor = 1 - 1. 3 *(MilBases/Land)

i just showed you the formulas

buying 1 turret on 15K acres will multiply your base PCI by 1.0000000004444444444444444444444

say you have 200K pop, your income will go up $0.00008888888888888888888888

so yes, it does go up, but your net profit goes down, because that turret costs $.14

Thanks for the formulae mrford. I plugged the numbers in for a typical rep casher and it came out at around $55 where I would have expected $60. I'm wondering if the 20% pci bonus is 0.2 in the formula or is it a function?

Anyway, I'm certain from looking at the results that my income has gone from about $60.5 per citizen to around $63 per citizen by buying several million turrets and jets. Its not exact but there it is. I'd like to do the math on it for real and plug numbers into the formula, maybe this set, maybe next. Or maybe after golf season :)
