The pain from that change might be offset somewhat for the top commies as "the cube root of relative nw" (whatever the hell that means) is surely pretty big for them.

Sure, the top commies will lose less units by attacking, and that also means they have even MORE units to sell. Supply Increase with Demand Drop = Lower Prices. Sure, I think it'll offset a bit, but I don't think it'll be as much as the price drop.

Even so, all the commies have had an entire month of headstart.

My guess - a stocking demo got irritated by the increasing food price and decided to buy out the oil market causing it to spike as well.

it was a buy-out that jumpstarted it i think on both resources, because i saw several million bushels at $36 or w/e and then it suddenly jumped to $59 i believe. and then oil did the same thing right after

I don't think it was a buyout. I think there just isn't enough food supply, and the $36 food simply dried up. Oil prices are poor, and oilers are converting rigs to farms.

Tech prices are going to go up as well, and military prices too. Well, I've already seen it happening, I mean, including completely empty markets for certain tech/military.

Ok there must be something different with the spy formula, it's nuts. I've got almost 2 mill spies and it still takes a ton of ops to break a 9k country with 300-400k spies. I've never failed as many ops as I have this set. And I've never had to go up to 2 million spies before. :-/

Usually my spal is 3/4 what it is now and I hardly fail an op unless its a super insane spy country. This set all my spare turns are used in killing off my spies instead of exploring. What gives???

Today I spied a country, then I went to spy on his alliances and failed 6 times in a row. I had, ahem, 6x as many spies as that country. SPAL was probably closer though. I think intel allies help low land countries way more than big countries as well, just because you get a 25% bonus from them, which helps those 9k acre countrys way more than the big boys.

Yeah, probably, and whose defense can be doubled more easily by his allies, the guy with 500k turrets or the guy with 10m turrets? Same with spies. And if this guy already has a higher SPAL than you because he has 1/4th your land but 1/3 your spy count, well, now his SPAL improves so much the more.

Failing 15 ops in a row as a commie, casher or farmer isn't so bad but as a techer it is downright infuriating. Especially when after you get through you see you have a much bigger SPAL than the country. That's when I end up double tapping, when I don't want to potentially waste any more turns failing ops on a 2nd country to hit.

It is amazing though... This set how many ops have bounced on countries they shouldn't normally. Especially that I have more than normal spy count. I was 100% spy production half of yesterday because I got so pissed off at failing so many ops.

I don't even bother to spy on allies I just double the guy up if I only get the normal OP in.

It's funny actually, I feel like I have more success on higher spal countries but fail a ton in a row on bad spal countries. It's almost like the spy success script is reversed.

You should have stopped grabbing at this point as a techer. If you find that you're slipping in the rankings too much, you can spend a little stock and boost your def. Otherwise, just make one retal and nobody else will hit you.

WOW 2 earthquakes today.. lost 1250+ bldgs. Add on food shortage, not a good day.

Not to mention buying 2.5m jet from 140-150 and having jets come on market at 132 right after I grabbed.

They're saying the same thing except this is how they each would do it:

Cable: Buy 1m turrets everyday, buy food w/ rest of money to stock

Blid: Buy 2m turrets every other day or 3m every 3rd day, buy food w/ rest of money to stock
