There are a few things in life that annoy me and one of them are non-homers. What I mean by this is people who are born and raised in a certain geographic area and don't cheer for their home teams. Furthermore the teams that they choose to cheer for they have no connection to them, no family there, never been there (except maybe for a vacation once), totally no connections to the area in which they choose to cheer for.

Non-homers are retarded. You are supposed to cheer for your home team.

Just for clarification it's ok if you have some kind of connection to the team you cheer for. For example: you were born in Chicago, you can cheer for the Bears.

GAHHHhh does anyone else feel this way?

i thought this was america?

i thought our forefathers 200+ years ago fought for independence for the right to be able to cheer for whatever sports team that folks want to

why do you hate america

Cheering for sports teams is all in-group/out-group bullfluff in general. Yeah, we're wired to do it and yeah, cheering for sports teams is relatively harmless, but I prefer to get my fixes for that sort of stuff in situations that don't require me to spend money or support fluffty organizations like the pro sports leagues.

So, no. I don't really feel that way at all :P

I think you have that confused with freedom of religion! They never said freedom of cheering for any team you want!

Worse yet, the anti-team fans. They spend more time talking fluff about a team than they do rooting for their team.

I support Tottenham because my father supported Tottenham and his father before him. It helps, I supppose, that I lived in Tottenham for some years in my youth and saw the Jimmy Greaves team play and the Glen Hoddle team. But it is the family connection which I was born to and which decides the matter. Not the places I have made my home.

I have a friend who was born and raised in NC like myself, and he is a Dallas Cowboys, Los Angeles Lakers, New York Yankees fan.

How the fluff does that happen.

I have an irrational hatred for Boston and Pittsburgh teams. And Dallas.

Probably rooted in their high concentration in my hometown.

the same reason that white people listen to rap or pretend to find black women attractive. it's perceived as cool.

I'm a Carolina Panthers, Charlotte Hornets, Atlanta Braves.

All regional to where I grew up. I'm not even remotely in the viewing area for these teams anymore. Doesn't matter.

It is all a pride of heritage thing or something similar. Some dont have that instinct.

Band wagoners are the worst

Hence why alot of non connected NY, dallas, LA fans out there. Patriots are included in this.

Isee no problem in rooting for whoever you want, but dont jump ship when your team sucls and another is bettter
