you said taht when i posted a TWO day old op on an all jetter when nuk asked my why i had hit it.

AND we were just informed, that OPS where ok to send because (and this is the reason that was given, which i found odd, but it was the reason given to us by a mod) "ops can be faked anyway, so who is to know if they are true" ... ?? ok ...
but ya, we were told that was now ok.
so why did you lock that thread?

honestly feels a lot like mod abuse. not doing too much ingame and then locking serious threads?

Typically- SPY OPS gets you deleted; however, you may post estimations in-game. (ref 1).
As for 'old' spy ops, that strictly applies to *after the set is over.

meh, the important things going on are the oil cheating, multi play, DR abuse, suiciders, etc.

time to change some of these stupid rules that in no way help the game.

I agree that EXPRESS and other servers could use more mod help in-game; however, I disagree with your opinion that Tella should step down as a mod. He's an active & contributing moderator on the msg boards and his absense in-game shouldn't reflect his usefulness.

The few people who have become mods were ran out of town. It's a very unappreciated position to have.

I just don't understand how Tellarion is consistently absent when we all report multi play, oil abuse, DR abuse, true nonsense suicider cheating ... but he's always there when i "trash talk".
feels like i'm getting singled out and it's honestly frustrating and annoying beyond all belief.
mods should know which players are good for the game and which ones take it seriously, i'm one of those.

also, I don't understand how it isn't mod abuse for a mod to lock an entire thread because an old op was posted, instead of simply deleting that post and letting a serious thread continue on. that's mod abuse.

i don't think their time is well spent telling me not to send trash talking messages to true loser rats who suicide and dedicate their countries to running gameplay. that hurts the game and i stand up for this game.

I rarely see Tella on EXPRESS. It's likely someone reported you.

Though it's looked down upon & game functions such as GDI have been implemented to prevent players from suciding, it's not a deletable offense to sucide on other players. Offensive messages are (ref 1). So technically, your country could be deleted for your messages. I'm not trying to be an ass here- I'm just going by the rules.

What are you talking about? My country *was* deleted for my messages when I called Tangster a moron for multi tapping and suiciding a couple months ago.
This reset, I asked a suicider if they were mentally retarded. I didn't suggest they indeed were, but I was curious.

The same player had initially called me names in private messages as well, and his names were more deletable than me asking him if he was mentally retarded.
But I don't report ingame messages ...

That's probably why. I rarely see the mods take action unless a person reports it. My suggestion would be to avoid all personal attacks all together. Just keep it to game trash talk. (And when I say game trash talk, it must remain within the context of the game only).

I myself have been guilty of trespassing that threshold. Tella kept me in check on the boards. (Which was a good thing). I'm a firm believer in some help is better than no help.

As an added clarification: SHARING SPY OPS 'WILL' GET YOU DELETED!

I realize there has been some gray areas in there before, but now it's clear for everyone to see.

If you send a message such as 'Hey, hit this guy #xxx because his break is only 5m', that will not violate these rules and you will be fine. After all, you can lie about that kind of stuff."

I even put it in caps for you, Vic.

As for why I looked into this particular situation, it's because I had some messages, which caused me to login to the mod tools, and I saw about 4-5 people all accusing each other of abuse, so I looked into the situation. You made a borderline inappropriate comment, so I sent you a polite message asking you to tone it down. You're not deleted, I didn't target or harass you. I don't know why you're getting so worked up over this, honestly.

And yeah, that's more or less where I draw my line. Trash talking within the bounds of the game is fine. I tend to take a more active stance when it's just insults back and forth and flame wars, but that's just me.

You mentioned your thoughts on what actually constitutes as DR abuse, then you went and did one of the things you said was DR abuse--specifically, multitapping a country in a manner in which that country would never have a chance to get its land back--even if it was able to break your defenses.

You also need to learn to respect others in game and on the forums. The manner in which you answered me when I asked you why you multitapped that country was enough for me to seriously consider killing your country. But, the amount of crying I've seen from you so far satisfies me, (and I don't have the turns to do so anyways) so I'll allow your country to live for now.

We are calling this DR abuse or am I missing something? A dead country can't get it's land back...also, did I abuse DR by driving a guy into the ground last night after he DT'd me and then RoR'd? I didn't kill him because I didn't want to, but he will not get his land back nor be ranked #11 again as he was before he screwed with me.

I don't think the mods would call your actions as DR abuse. They would have seen that you were trying to ruin that country because of its earlier actions towards your country. I'm talking about grabbing a country, knowing it won't ever be able to get its land back, because your country is so far in DR that retaliating for land won't be worth it.

right after i hit the guy in question that you mentioned, someone hit me, within a few minutes, for over 300 acres on multiple hits!!! so i indeed was giving back land!!! and i continued to grab out of DR!!!!!!!!

Ah yes. The topic of DR. Remember that guy Netsquash? Yeah, he quit because of this very topic. To me, attacking while heavily under DR shouldn't be illegal. I shouldn't have to stop all my LGs because one guy wants to war me. The whole notion of I should be able to fully recover all my land back is bogus. Think about the players who retal 2 days later for 5-6x the land lost. Is that fair? It's part of the game.

Besides- in one round of attacks you can regain it all back. And quite frankly, there's maybe one person that does it per set. Do they ever win? No.

If you think about it- and I've yet to see players do it yet; but, a player could pull off the same tatic in other ways. (ie., sell 60% of military on market) time your attack on someone 95% of your net 10 secs before your cheap turrets hit the market. You get best gains and the person who retals you is now unable to get within 95% of your net. It's all part of the game.

Unless it's coordination, it should be allowed.

You guys are all very confused about what constitutes 'DR Abuse'...

What, you mean to tell me that multitapping a country while running very low defense and using DR as a defense against potentially losing lots of land on a retal isn't DR abuse?

We have only deleted for 'DR abuse' if people coordinated to put themselves into DR. If someone is trying to mess you up, and you survive and use that massive DR to gain land from others, that is not a violation of the rules as they currently stand. Never has been.

Yes, many people think that's bullfluff. Yes, as a player I agree with you that it shouldn't be that way. I think qz should make a change to put special attacks and LG dr on separate counters, personally, which would remove this entire issue. Unfortunately, that never happened. Sorry.
