Optimal land target formula: L= 4*CS^2 [L = Land (acres) & CS = Construction sites]

If CS = 50, then L = 10,000 acres

Now, along the way I got attacked for 3,000 acres.

1) Do I continue until I achieve my original land target of 10,000 acres?

Or

2) Should I stop at 7,000 acres i.e., since I was attacked for 3000 acres?

And

3) What happens when if over achieve my original land target? Should I drop the land and stick to 10,000 acres? Or do I continue? if I continue, then when do I stop? Stop at 15,000 acres? I.e. how far can I go before it becomes inefficient to do build?

You have to calculate two things

A = Cost of Attack + Cost of Building + Cost of tech to maintain tech levels

B = Turns left in the game * production gained from the land you are going to grab

if B > A, continue to attack
if A > B, stop

For example, you're a farmer
You send 5m jets to get 500 acres
Loss of jets : 5m * 0.08 * $120 = $48m
Oil cost : 200k * 200 = $9m
Cost of building say : 500 * 50,000 = $25m
Cost of tech needed to maintain : approximately $20m
Total for A = $102m

500 acres will net you about 5.8k bushels at 215% agri tech
say there's about 800 turns left in the game
B = 800 * 5.8k * $41 average food price = $190m

so B is > A in this case, you should continue to grab.

I like to base my LGing on a proprietary formula which involves my desired NW + a string of Pythagorean theorem and an estimated final NW projection for Vic's NW.

Usually Imy target land value calculates between 19 -21k acreas but again its influenced heavily on what I think that Rank #1 and #2 will finish at as I shoot for 3rd spot every round.
