The ploy here is two headed.
Its to deflect the heat she is getting like "if your 31k votes in michigan went to Hillary she would have won. It is also to stall the electoral college votes in these states beyond the 19th when the official electoral votes are cast. IF successful, this would deny Trump the 270 needed and force congress to appoint him, which they would.
She has said all along that this is about changing the way we do elections, not that she thinks anything will change. The problem she will run into is in PA, she missed the deadline and had to file a lawsuit. In her filing it is loaded with vague statements and hypothetical and assumptions, not substantial facts or evidence. This likely gets thrown out its just a matter of how long they can tie it up in court at this point.
Stein seems to be taking the "burn it to the ground" approach that the Dems feared Trump was going to do had he lost. The Clinton camp was just waiting for this to jp on it and expect them to drag it out as long ad they can.
The smart play from Trump would be to tweet the following
"After deep consideration and in the spirit of protecting the spirit of elections, I welcome these recount efforts"
"While I am supremely confident the outcomes will not change, if my opponents feel the need for a recount To confirm the results, let them have it"
"My staff and I want every American to be confident in our election systems integrity and fairness."
"I hope this results in the first step in us coming together as a nation"
"My te and I look forward to working with Team Stein and Team Clinton to quickly wrap this up and get to work as we #MakeAmericaGreatAgain"
And then have Kellyanne Conway change his twitter password and not tell it to him until he is no longer President.
