For the record, I was in favor of Spirit of The Server which is why I say abandoning it was a disaster. The disaster is to not follow through fully.

EDIT: This is what I suspect would happen on Alliance should they want to get more involved.

My post was very simple and yet you seem to be very challenged by it and jump to conclusions.

I don't believe I am. In the very early days, there was a movement to enforce the 'Spirit of The Server' on Teams in regard to 5v5. I cannot remember if there were deletions; however, there was a big conflict between some players and the staff/mods etc.

It was eventually abandoned. That's mostly what I mean by disastrous based on my foggy memories of it.

This has been the case since 1998. It is practically built into the mechanics of the game, and because this is just a carbon copy + a few minor changes to Earth: 2025 as designed and envisioned by Mehul Patel we see that here as well.

The Alliance server is an open world concept and players are free to attack anyone and the thrill of risk/reward is still present. If you want a more guarded protected PvE style of game play there is the Coop server built by Slagpit, it specifically caters to that niche.

Alternatively, the staff could see fit to be more heavy handed on matters between players but that has been disastrous in the past, see: Team Server– spirit of the server rules.

Back in the day missiles were available on the market (Earth 2025 - Mehul version) but it caused a lot of problems because missiles are, quite frankly, OP.

I think it is worth looking into nerfing missiles or buffing SDI, to be honest.

As far as multis go they don't seem to be a problem with EE. Unlike Earth: 2025 there are active mods that work to prevent that. It may happen but it isn't a prevalent issue.

If I am not mistaken some players on your side were the last big ring of multis uncovered in the game– mostly on the team server? I could be wrong if the players are not playing anymore I know BHole is permanently banned so that is one of them.

Back in the mid 2000s there were also problems with netting tags mid feeding and jumping, then kill anyone who could retal. PDM was practically destroyed because of it.

If the game has issues it’s due to the architecture of the game that was set by Mehul and emulated here. Bots helped some but players play the game.

Edit: we are quite still interested in growing EE. Most of us like it here right? So we really have to come together on recruiting drives. It's not 1998 where recruiting for our own clans is enough. We have to be game focused. So that clans grow organically.

Funny you mention that, me and some friends are working on developing a fancy android playable game inspired by earth2025. You can join the conversation if you want. Hit me up on discord. I am in the EE discord and you can PM me from there.

You really need an iOS and Android APP. In the USA there are wayyyyy more iOS users. Also iOS users tend to financially support apps they like more.

Just some food for thought. I would recommend a cross-platform framework with one codebase that outputs Android and iOS Apps. With a simple text-based game like this, it would work great.

Hey Hexor— OG PDMer here. Honestly, most PDMers just aren’t built for war. They’re not trying to run bots, hop on scheduled chats, or grind like that. After TAN and Detmer dipped in the mid-2000s, PDM kinda settled into a more chill, casual vibe, and it’s been better for it.

Not saying that’s good or bad, just different. The ones who were down to war mostly ended up in M4D anyway, so what you’re asking for already kinda happened.

If you’re trying to recruit, you’d probably have better luck hitting people up in private than putting it all out here. As for me, I’m not getting involved in anything against PDM unless they hit me first.

I’m already at like 1,000 miles of singletrack this year; what’s your hobby?

Back in the day (Earth 2025), every good alliance leader knew that one rogue post could put a target on your back. Members were managed or they were kicked from the Clan.

Point 3 isn’t censorship in any negative connotation; it’s how clan servers work. If your members can’t keep their mouths shut and egg on a war tag, then your alliance deserves the consequences. This is a war game (clan servers) that’s based on politicking– it's been that way ever since Mehul created clan servers.

You were gracious enough to create the Coop server which is where players can behave however they want without any consequence. I suggest the kinds of people that cause their Alliance trouble move to that server.
