Putting a landcap is silly, as it forces everyone to play techer. Techer is clearly the best strategy if there's a land cap. Heck, techer is probably the best strategy even without a cap on landsize.
You don't run an all-explore expecting to get a top finish.
But you can do a lot of market manipulation with an all-explore. What matters is their stockpile & their skill, not their landsize.
I think all-explore demo casher can get 170m+ networth, but thats because I've seen good players claim that they can do that. I won't claim that I can do that. I will claim that I could get 170m+ with an all-explore demo techer in the right market conditions (conditions that would be created by a large group of landtrading cashers causing high tech prices all set, and a very late food peak). Those conditions I think are fairly likely to occur since landtrading seems to be catching on a bit more, but not too many people seem to be trying it with techers.
If you want to do an all-explore, why do it on FFA instead of alliance? FFA is a server to do things which you can't do on other servers because you only have 1 country? Why play your 1 country like its all by itself? Why not play your 16 countries like they are all working together, as all part of one body?
If you want to know what one country is capable of by itself, play a server where only one country can be played by one person? If you want to know what they can do without an alliance, play a server where there are no alliances. If you want to know what they can do with alliance protection, play a server with alliances. And if you want to know what they can do with 16 countries, play a server where they can play 16 countries.
The question shouldn't be how much networth can you get out of one country, it should be how much networth can you get out of sixteen countries? Can you get 2.5b tnw out of 16 all-explores? Or can you get 5b tnw out of 16 landtraders? Don't talk about goals for individual countries if its FFA, talk about goals for the combined tnw of all 16, or for the anw across all 16.
