A "friend" asked me to help him carry a large BBQ pit down a steep hill (it was chuck full of charcoal). I was carrying it in my right hand he in his left. I am pretty sure he went down first, causing my rt foot to shoot straight out in front of me and pulling me down the hill to the right. The problem was my left foot hung up on something and never moved. So, my upper body reflex went back and then down to the right, causing my shin bone to shoot up through the kneecap in my left leg. The knee cap went into my thigh and down the hill i went. My left foot never moved except from the big ball at the ankle (distal tibia) which totally busted apart.
So there i was at the bottom of the hill with most of my left leg uphill and mangled. He lived in the middle of nothing so staying and waiting for ambulance was not an option. I knew i couldn't do much with the leg like that so i told myself its a leg, they can fix anything with a leg, grabbed it, and straightened it all back up. Yes, it hurt. I only WHISHED i passed out but i never did. Once straight i could get up and had to hop into the truck- while he held my shoelaces, keeping my leg straight. However once in the truck- it moved uncontrollably all the way to the hospital.
Ya, tho i walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I shall fear no retals,
Cause i have the biggest, baddest, and toughest country in the valley!
