Hey all my FFAT friends.

Every year, I participate in the Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society. It's a 12-hour relay for teams to stay on the track all night long from 6PM to 6AM (because cancer never sleeps, so neither will be).

Many of you probably are involved in a Relay for Life near you. Many of you probably know people who are involved and donate to them. If you're one of those people, I thank you, and I certainly don't expect any type of additional help from you other than your thoughts and prayers that our event be a success.

However, if you don't know anyone involved in Relay For Life, now you do! They have secure websites for each participant where you can donate via Credit Card, and that's how I've donated the last 4-5 years of being involved.

If you know someone who has been affected by cancer, then you certainly know how hard it can be. My wife's family has been hit especially hard, with my mother-in-law passing away in her late 50s, as well as my wife's aunt dying in her early 60s, and several other family members, including an 11-year-old cousin of my wife's who is already a cancer survivor, having beaten the disease into remission.

It is because of them that we Relay.

Again, if you're already involved, then I thank you for your work with the ACS.
If you already donate to another cancer-related organization, then I thank you for your donations to that particular organization.
If you just are in a bad place financially and cannot afford anything right now, I certainly understand. I've said no to a lot more charities the last 12 months than I usually do.

However, if you do have some money you can spare, then I would highly appreciate if you were willing to donate to this cause.

This link is actually to my wife's page, as I've already met my fundraising goal (the easy part for me is that I have all of my family to hit up for cash--since our team is mostly made up of HER family members, she doesn't have that luxury....)

As far as whether this is appropriate here, I've already posted this before along with this message and none of the mods have had issue, but at the same time, I understand if the current board moderators would rather these types of posts not be on the game boards. If this is the case, please feel free to delete the message, but please let me know via a message, and I'll be happy to avoid posting anything in the future.

Thanks everyone!

I'd hook you up but I don't have much work right now. I think I did it last year though. Hopefully next time around, I'll be in better shape.

My prayers go out to you & your family. And all the other families that have either lost someone or someone is suffering from this terrible disease. God be with you all.

Dibs: I don't have that information myself, but I know I've looked it up in the past. In fact, I think you may have asked this same question last year when I last posted this, I might have to look back....

ACS puts money both into research but also into aiding people who have cancer with other cancer-related issues.

I expect very little out of this, so if you guys are short on cash right now, don't worry about this. I know most of you have your own families to worry about, and in the case of Popcom, it sounds like his charity is a bit more direct.

I thank all of you for reading, and Deci, thank you very much for your donation! For the rest of you, if you've got the cash and don't know anyone else, send it my way! If you're short on cash or you already are involved with other charities or ACS in another way, then all I ask are well wishes for the event to go off as successfully as possible.
