Hey all my FFAT friends.
Every year, I participate in the Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society. It's a 12-hour relay for teams to stay on the track all night long from 6PM to 6AM (because cancer never sleeps, so neither will be).
Many of you probably are involved in a Relay for Life near you. Many of you probably know people who are involved and donate to them. If you're one of those people, I thank you, and I certainly don't expect any type of additional help from you other than your thoughts and prayers that our event be a success.
However, if you don't know anyone involved in Relay For Life, now you do! They have secure websites for each participant where you can donate via Credit Card, and that's how I've donated the last 4-5 years of being involved.
If you know someone who has been affected by cancer, then you certainly know how hard it can be. My wife's family has been hit especially hard, with my mother-in-law passing away in her late 50s, as well as my wife's aunt dying in her early 60s, and several other family members, including an 11-year-old cousin of my wife's who is already a cancer survivor, having beaten the disease into remission.
It is because of them that we Relay.
Again, if you're already involved, then I thank you for your work with the ACS.
If you already donate to another cancer-related organization, then I thank you for your donations to that particular organization.
If you just are in a bad place financially and cannot afford anything right now, I certainly understand. I've said no to a lot more charities the last 12 months than I usually do.
However, if you do have some money you can spare, then I would highly appreciate if you were willing to donate to this cause.
This link is actually to my wife's page, as I've already met my fundraising goal (the easy part for me is that I have all of my family to hit up for cash--since our team is mostly made up of HER family members, she doesn't have that luxury....)

As far as whether this is appropriate here, I've already posted this before along with this message and none of the mods have had issue, but at the same time, I understand if the current board moderators would rather these types of posts not be on the game boards. If this is the case, please feel free to delete the message, but please let me know via a message, and I'll be happy to avoid posting anything in the future.
Thanks everyone!
