All I see in this thread is the usual suspects that all farm everyone and ally themselves, whining about it. Wah you can't hit before everyone else and outgrow everything but all jetter retallers. Sucks for you, solo servers should be solo, not groups of buddies defensing up, and agreeing not to hit each other.

To be fair, several people DID fluff about Def allies and 'leaching' defense. Definitely not the majority, but it was present.

As qz has said, due to time constraints, he put this in place this set(and because I kept bugging him). When he has time to properly adjust the code, he will look at reinstating DA/IA in the future.

And you know what? You guys asked for change, so don't blame me if it's not exactly what you wanted :D

You asked for specific change, I read each and every single post on the issues, and re-read them a few times before presenting them to qz. We talked over the various suggestions and looked for ways to solve the issues that were A) Effective, and B) Possible/Easy to implement. Unfortunately, with the way the code is set up, it's not as easy to implement things as it probably should be. So qz made the decision to remove all allies and look into reimplementing da/ia down the road.

PS: I just removed more gray area for you guys as well. Check the rules thread again.

Ehhh, that's not quite a complete response. I mean, sure, you can run with way more defense, but considering def allies were just removed, people WILL be easier to break, that's just a fact. I think if def allies were going to stay removed (I believe it's planned to bring them back) that lowering the PS bonus does make sense.

Will respond to both you and st0ny. Altering playing style doesn't necessarily mean to have more defense, it could mean to work with the fact that you'll have less land.

Also, my post might have confused some. I don't agree with alliea disappearing from so called solo servers. from what I recall, these changes were made because there were so many requesting them. If we keep going in this direction, we may as well be playing solitaire or flipping a coin to decide the winner.

I think a lot of my sarcasm is lost on these forums.

I never really played with a lot of land and never really had any def allies of worth. Haven't actually won this server, but have come close using different styles.

In regards to adding Intel and def allies back, why bother if not going to add off or others? We aren't attempting to make a multi player game where player interaction is 0. Just seems that's where we're going.

Abusing allies is somewhat wrong but still does not equate to always being alliance / clan tactics. I feel removing them removes far too much player interaction in a game designed around diplomacy.

*shrug* seems we make changes for those continually in the top to better enable them to stay there peaceably.

Slow play helps sometimes. NW difference.. Not aiming so high. I am really not attempt to defend these changes. I am just happy to let those who wanted this change to have fun with it. Making attacking easier will at least allow more player interaction. Also leads to less cut and dry methods of winning. *shrug* this is a strategy game, why have I got to explain to you how I'd attempt to win it, regardless of the constraints?

Oh, also if any of you think that having no allies goes anywhere towards reducing the 'mates helping mates' play style are pretty naive.

People will still discreetly share numbers and agree not to hit each other, agree to the best time to hit each other for optimal gains from 1 - 1 attacks, share spy ops details, etc. We as a staff team do our best to minimise this.

I actually really enjoy playing a solo server and finding New allies each set based on early play and what I think they'll play. Was burned so many times but still enjoyed it.
