i don't know the specifics of this matter ... didn't know who was at war . i just know we are talking about some nubs and all i know is the general concept of an alliance not being able to retal fairly - if they can't retal fairly, and then they make a new hit on someone else in that alliance that hit them, it's an escalation. from a perspective of pact terms, you are right - unless explicitly stated otherwise, it will be treated as a new hit. but in terms of diplomatic tensions, it's a clear and obvious and stupid escalation that will warrant stomping 99.9% of the time

it doesnt take as much skill when only one tags been in a war

i calced you get about 1b if long stock, pay about 450m to build and probably quite a bit on expenses and commision, plus jets lost and oil used

at worst id expect a few million nw loss, which isnt great but probably not worth warring over

if your not doing long stock then of course its not as good, and you have every right to be mad, including at the country in your own tag

for a bit of a more serious response

obviously if you farm a tag thats been at war that cant retal you they might be unhappy

this can sometimes lead to them grabbing your all explores or whoever else they can, and in such a situation you have provoked it

sometimes its good to give extended dnh's to tags that have been in war because of that

it never makes the hit on a third party acceptable as a retal, but it needs to be dealt with as a normal grab of that type

(in this case supposedly there is a message stating its a retal which just causes more conflict, it doesnt make it a valid retal unless thats accepted by both sides)

which commonly in alliance server right now means 80-100% land:land, its further complicated by it being too late in the set for retalling to be worth while

the original grab was about 14 days before the end of the set by a dict something, presumably casher/farmer that was sitting on 15k for a week barely exploring and mainly abing an untagged Subse7en (#391)

since then Velo (#328) has been grabbing mainly untagged and for 1154 acres in what wasnt a netting country created all these problems

go piss up a rope (#45) also presumably a casher/farmer then took maybe 97% land back, with about 83% before the last hit

it might be worth it for 2083 acres gained but its not a huge amount, positive or negative either way, thats if the situation is now resolved and doesnt lead to anything else

the imag country is 2500 up on the second exchange and 1200 down on the first but could have just explored that land in either 1.5 or 3 days anyway

someone in lcn basically pointlessly takes land
someone in imag basically pointless takes land
someone else takes back land for a roughly neutral outcome is upset and makes a thread
nothing really happened

just leads to more conflict, which isnt a bad thing if thats what people want

The reason this is a debate at all is because there are several different ways to interpret how to respond. In the past, jumping out of range after hitting a restart from war has been considered offensive, most especially at the end of a set. Vic's point is also valid depending on the clan's rules and so is Elves'.

This is what FAs are for...because the majority of people that play this game do not understand it. Clans have different policies, there might be specific terms or exceptions in pacts that are not known to the general public. Something might be generally agreed upon, but when two FA's get together, things can change.
